Google gets social technological patent from IBM

January 27th, 2012

Google is buying… It’s doing lots of it. The company recently acquired a handful of patents that were previously part of IBM’s portfolio. Most recent is a patent for a system that allows for analysing and processing text compiled by users of social networks in order to determine their common/aggregate interests. The original goal of this technology, according to IBM, is to filter out irrelevant links in order to give users the best and most accurate search experience related to their research intentions. It’s all part of the way Google is increasingly jumping on the social bandwagon and incorporating it into its search results. SOURCE: Maple Online Casino
